Dear GLB Church Family!
God is doing some good work in the GLB Church this year so far. We hope that you are seeing and sensing the Spirit moving and forming us more and more into the image of Christ for the sake of others. God blessed us in March with an incredible time at our Men’s Breakfast/Communion time where we got to hear from Joe Eades from our Mighty Men’s Ministry and Joseph Ortiz from our campus ministry. Some rich fellowship was had and we are seeing the older generations engaging with the younger generations in a great way. God blessed us in March with an amazing Women’s Day! Our first time having it on a Sunday and free of charge saw our largest attendance post-Covid and the most amount raised at the fundraiser! Again, God is bringing generations together and we are seeing a Titus 2 vision of church coming to be.
In the month of April, we are beginning our new series called “Practicing the Way.” If you want more information on it, please visit the website www.practicingtheway.org and if you’re looking to connect with a group to go through this curriculum in community, please check our church website and send us a note and one of our Elders will connect you. Good Friday Worship Night, Easter Sunday, Campus Ministry Spring Retreat, Practicing the Way, Open Hands Sunday with our Family Picnic— all these opportunities that are being provided for us as a church to continue gathering and growing and opening ourselves up to allowing God to form us, by God’s Spirit, into a people of love and who do God’s will ‘on earth as it is in heaven.’
We will be taking an 8-week break from our study through the book of Matthew. But we want to encourage you to continue to study through it or re-visit some of the recent sermons on our YouTube channel if you get a chance. The test of our discipleship really comes to surface when we are working through our relationships with one another. Matthew 18 in particular has some great teaching from Jesus about this. Let’s continue praying for discernment on how we can be a church where mercy flows and forgiveness is our language and where we leave the 99 to go find the 1.
Lastly, we want to congratulate Sam Mathew and Jade Yen as they are getting married this month of April!! Sam and Jade serve every Sunday on our tech team and have been faithful followers of Jesus since their high school days. It’s exciting to see them take this step in their lives! Congratulations Sam and Jade!
Let’s have a great April. With love,
With love,
Ruben and Marina.

Get Involved!
Church isn’t meant to be something we attend—it’s something we belong to. Getting involved is one of the best ways to build community and grow spiritually. Whether it’s joining a team, a group, or simply staying after service to connect, there’s a place for you at GLB Church.

Cristian Outreach in Action
This month, we’re partnering with Christian Outreach in Action (COA) in Long Beach — a powerful ministry that meets real needs with real love. They serve meals daily, offer clothing and hygiene items, and provide support for individuals and families facing homelessness or hardship.
How you can help:
-
Donate Items: Bring hygiene kits, canned goods, or gently used clothes to the lobby drop-off bin.
-
Serve with Us: Sign up to make lunches on the second Saturday of the month. Please call Erica Burch 562-787-4626 for more info or organize with your group and sign up here.
-
Pray: Lift up this ministry and the people they serve in your daily prayers.
COA gives us an opportunity to live out the love of Christ in our city. Let’s be the hands and feet of Jesus together.
You don’t have to carry things alone. If you need prayer—for yourself, your family, or someone you care about—we’re here.
You can email prayer requests to glbprayerministry@gmail.com or enter them here.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”
April naturally carries that “new life” energy—spring, Easter, renewal—and this verse hits right at the core of it. It’s not just about Jesus rising, it’s about us being made new because of Him. Not slightly improved… completely renewed. That’s a powerful reset, especially if life’s felt heavy or off lately.
Practicals for April
- Start fresh daily
Don’t carry yesterday into today. Take 2–5 minutes each morning to reset your mind and invite God into your day. - Let go of one old habit
Ask yourself: what’s one thing that doesn’t belong in this “new creation” version of me? Be honest and start small. - Lean into Scripture
Even if it’s just one verse a day, stay connected. Consistency > intensity.
Serve someone intentionally – Look for one moment each week to bless someone—your family, a coworker, someone in need. Make your faith visible. - Speak life over yourself
When negative thoughts hit, replace them with truth. You’re not who you used to be.
If you actually lean into this, April can feel like a legit reset—not just spiritually, but mentally too.
